'Exciting' - Journalist reacts after hearing who could join Rangers

The Scottish Sun has claimed that the Stoke City defender is a target of manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst as he prepares for his first full season in charge at Ibrox.

However, the report claims that the Gers may have to sell before they can sign the 23-year-old, who will take £5m to land.

Calvin Bassey and Borna Barisic are Van Bronckhorst’s current options on the left, with both men attracting interest, so perhaps one will be let go in order to bring Tymon to Scotland.

Rangers Review writer Derek Clark has revealed that ‘no official approach’ has yet been made for Barisic, but should he leave, O’Rourke believes that Tymon would be a cracking addition to the side.

He told GiveMeSport: “I think Josh Tymon had a really good season for Stoke City; he’s got huge potential and is an exciting young left-back.
