Ex-Man United striker using ingenious ploy to snag free tickets to Oasis concert

Teddy Sheringham is putting his punditry perks to good use in an attempt to land free Oasis tickets.

The Manchester United legend has become a frequent fixture on the hospitality scene since hanging up his boots in 2008. And that comes with a certain amount of privilege that other fans of the superstar siblings can't match.

Luckily for Champions League winner Sheringham, his work at Wembley has opened the possibility that he may be among the first in 16 years to see Noel and Liam Gallagher perform live together. However, even the Old Trafford hero isn't assured of access when Oasis tour next summer.

"It's funny; I was asked to do something at Wembley about a year ago. They couldn't pay me what I was asking for, but they said they could give me a box, for whatever I wanted at Wembley, throughout the year‌," said Sheringham at the launch of Ladbrokes' Gaffer of all Accas. "But I couldn't have the Champions League final or the FA Cup final. So, I'm on the phone and I asked what else there was."

Sheringham was offered the VIP treatment for Taylor Swift and was inclined to turn it down given he had no interest in the 14-time Grammy Award-winner. At least that was until his wife overheard and informed him he'd be doing the job in order to get the box.
