Ex-Man United star Patrice Evra fires brutal Erik ten Hag sack message with six-word send-off

Patrice Evra has found the funny side of Erik ten Hag being sacked by Manchester United after a club decision was announced on Monday. Less than 24 hours after controversial defeat to West Ham, Ten Hag's dismissal was confirmed.

It comes with the Red Devils sat 14th in the Premier League table after being beaten 2-1 by Julen Lopetegui's struggling Hammers on Sunday. United are now below West Ham and have won just one of their last eight games in all competitions.

The call to remove Ten Hag from his post is just one month after Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his Ineos sporting control ownership group met with the new United hierarchy in London during the October international break. Ten Hag's future is thought to have been discussed at that stage.

After a summer of attempts to find a permanent replacement for Ten Hag, Ineos and Ratcliffe instead chose to give the Dutchman a new contract. United have now had to end this partnership early as they search for a new boss.

Evra, though, is not yet taking things too seriously despite the demise. "Let wait [sic] for the V. A. R guys" he wrote in response to United's sacking announcement. It follows Ten Hag's complaints that Matthijs de Ligt was penalised in the last minute of the match against West Ham.

For a short while the penalty call - overturned by David Coote after an on-field check was recommended by Michael Oliver on VAR - had been the biggest talking point around United. However, Ten Hag's sacking and the future of United has understandably taken the spotlight.
