Ex-Hull City star wanted by Leeds United and West Ham as transfer fee falls

Ola Aina's difficult time in Italy looks set to end this summer with a number of clubs lining up a possible move for the former Hull City defender. Aina, who spent the 2017/18 season on loan at the Tigers from Chelsea, has had a torrid 2022 so far and is yet to play a minute this year for Torino after falling out of favour at the club.

The mid-table Serie A side are open to offers for the Nigerian international, with Calciomercato suggesting Torino would be open to a cut-price deal in an effort to move the player on. That has alerted a number of Premier League sides, with Leeds United, West Ham and Crystal Palace all said to have shown an interest in the right-back or wingback.

All three clubs have previously been linked with Aina, with Leeds reportedly the closest to having previously landed the player. Having cost Torino £9m to sign the player from Chelsea in 2019, the Italians will do well to recoup anything close to that figure for a player who they loaned out to Fulham last season and who is currently not playing at all.

Having enjoyed a successful season at Hull City where he featured 46 times, scoring one goal in the FA Cup, Aina went straight to Italy and impressed, making a name for himself in Serie A and establishing his place in the Nigeria national team. The last six months have proven much tougher, however, with a return to England now looking very likely.
