Ex-chef rates all 33 Co-op sandwiches – one stands out while others are 'basic'
A chef has forked out an eye-watering £105 on sandwiches from Co-op in a quest to determine the best and the worst among them.
In Britain, we love a good sandwich – and given the vast selection of fillings paired with various breads, everyone has their own unique favourites.
Now, meal deal enthusiast and ex-chef Becca Stock has performed a staggering taste test of 33 sandwiches from the Co-op meal deal range and delivered an unapologetically candid verdict via her TikTok page, @beccaeatseverything.
Becca said one sandwich was "for basic b***es" and found certain fillings "just wrong," Nevertheless, there were those which got her stamp of approval. Above all, she heralded one champion sandwich that she believes is a must-try for everyone.
She said the British pork all-day breakfast sandwich as the least impressive offering. "How did they get this so wrong?" she said, adding: "The bacon is lovely, egg is fine, I don't mind the ketchup but the sausage is like dust."
She was also not a fan of the Chinese menu salt and chilli chicken wrap, nor what she dubbed "the wettest" tuna and sweetcorn sandwich she's ever encountered. She was taken with the cheddar cheese and mayonnaise, noting it contained a "good amount" of grated cheese.
Becca was particularly fond of the chicken and bacon with mayonnaise sandwich, saying: "I do like the bacon, it compliments the chicken nicely. I also like the bread – it's lovely and soft and got a lot of flavour." She also called herself a "sucker" for the tuna in a sub roll.
However, Becca described the experience of trying the chicken stuffing sandwich as like "eating bits of rubber". She added: "Honestly, it's like torture food."
Topping her list in the ex-chef's review was the chicken and bacon
