Everything we know so far as manhunt for Daniel Abed Khalife begins second day

A nationwide manhunt to find a terror suspect who has escaped from prison is entering its second day. Daniel Abed Khalife is believed to have escaped from a kitchen at HMP Wandsworth by clinging to a delivery van.

The 21-year-old former soldier is awaiting trial after being accused of planting a fake bomb at an RAF base and gathering information that might be useful to terrorists or enemies of the UK. He has denied the three charges against him.

Passengers saw delays of around 30 minutes at Manchester Airport yesterday (September 6) as the frantic search turned into a day of chaos at terminals and ports across the country, with additional passport checks taking place. Khalife is known to have links to the north west.
