'Everyone knows that' - Manchester United training ground clash shows competitive spirit in squad

Manchester United have trained at Carrington as they finalise preparations for their Europa League semi-final second leg against Athletic Club at Old Trafford on Thursday.

United have at least one foot in the final after winning 3-0 in Bilbao last week. The news that Nico and Inaki Williams will miss the second leg has boosted their chances of securing a return to the city on May 21.

Ruben Amorim was without Matthijs de Ligt during Wednesday's training session after he limped off against Brentford this week. Christian Eriksen was also missing, and his absence was considered a precaution.

The 15 minutes we get to see of open training usually means we get a glimpse of the warm-up rondos, and it always proves the point about how competitive professional footballers are.

There was the usual pre-training tunnel in the Carrington sunshine, with three players running through it and getting slaps from their teammates.
