Thanks to the rather questionable process that led to Qatar hosting a World Cup and the subsequent decision to hold the competition in winter, we’ve had to put up with never-ending transfer sagas and intense analysis on pre-season training methods this summer instead of watching the greatest cup competition on the planet. At least we’ve had the rather excellent Women’s Euros to focus on.
If the World Cup was on, Raheem Sterling’s move to Chelsea may not have happened yet and he would’ve made a few more England appearances as a Manchester City player, seeing him overtake Joe Hart as the club’s most-capped Englishman of all-time. Arsenal: Kenny Sansom
England’s 12th most-capped man won 77 of his 86 England caps whilst playing for Arsenal, with Kenny Sansom edging out former Highbury hero David Seaman for top spot. Legendary Gunners skipper Tony Adams’ total of 66 puts him in third out of 68 players.
