Everton: 'Very strange' Goodison Park deal 'didn't make any sense'

The January addition of Anwar El Ghazi was a “strange” signing by Everton, according to Daily Star journalist Paul Brown.

The £9m-rated attacker made the loan switch to Goodison Park from Aston Villa, but he’s hardly had a look in since his winter arrival.

El Ghazi’s move to Everton appeared a bizarre signing at the time, and that’s exactly how his loan has turned out.

On a couple of occasions in recent weeks, El Ghazi has even failed to make the matchday squad, highlighting how difficult of a time he’s been having at the club.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “El Ghazi has barely played for Everton; it was a very strange signing. It didn’t seem to make sense when the club was overloaded with wingers already. It didn’t seem to be the manager pushing for it, so it was a strange one.”
