Everton star tells Lampard ‘you can count on me’ in relegation fight

Everton attacker Richarlison has told his manager, Frank Lampard, that he can count on him as they look to steer clear of the relegation zone.

The Brazilian has struggled with injures this season, playing just 17 times in the Premier League, scoring only four goals.

However, he is now back fit and available as Everton look to beat off the threat of relegation after a dismal season so far.

Lampard was brought in to replace Rafa Benitez at the end of January, but has overseen just one Premier League win so far, a 3-0 triumph over fellow relegation candidates Leeds.

Speaking to evertonfc.com, the Brazilian said: “I told the manager he can count on me, my body is obeying me and everything is in place to have an excellent closing few months of the season.

“It was probably inevitable that I would have fitness issues at some point, not only because I played non-stop for two years from the 2019 Copa America but because injuries are part of a footballer’s life.

“I was counting the minutes until I could get back on the pitch after I hurt my knee earlier this season and it was the same when I was coming back from my calf issue at the start of the year.

“I want to be playing and scoring goals and providing assists to help Everton pick up points to climb the table.
