Ecstasy engulfed Goodison Park after Everton secured their Premier League survival with a late comeback victory against Crystal Palace.

Yes, Frank Lampard and Everton have done it.

Things were looking bleak at half-time as they trailed 2-0 to a Crystal Palace side that had their tails up.

But the Toffees showed the fighting spirit that has characterised them throughout the past month and they ran out 3-2 winners on the night.

It’s been a desperate season for Evertonians, but as a matter of fact, they can be proud of how their team has managed to turn their fortunes around when the going got tough.

A tally of 14 points from their last eight Premier League games is form worthy of a Champions League spot if maintained throughout an entire season.

And some of those points came against big hitters in Chelsea, Manchester United and a tough away trip to Leicester.

Their impressive run of results means that, despite what things might have looked like previously, Everton will be clear of any last day drama.

Fans can breathe a sigh of relief and look forward to re-building next season under Lampard, surely, better times will be on the horizon for the Merseyside club?
