Everton now targeting double Wolves transfer amid Morgan Gibbs-White interest

Everton remain interested in Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White - but they are now paying close attention to another one of Bruno Lage’s players.

Gibbs-White, 22, is commanding widespread transfer interest following his excellent loan spell at Sheffield United last season, where he scored 12 times in 37 Championship outings. The midfielder is a target for both Everton and Nottingham Forest, while numerous other Premier League teams have been linked.

Everton’s interest in Gibbs-White is being driven by Kevin Thelwell, who oversaw the player’s development during his time as Wolves sporting director. Now in that role at Everton, Thelwell has also appointed ex-Wolves academy manager Gareth Prosser to his staff.

In addition to Gibbs-White, Thelwell is also interested in Leander Dendoncker, who he brought to Wolves back in 2018 shortly after the club was promoted to the Premier League. Dendoncker has one year remaining on his contract at Wolves, although there is an option to extend it.

Dendoncker has been a mainstay in Wolves’ team over the last four years, making 128 appearances under Nuno Espirito Santo and Bruno Lage. He was a regular in the team last season, despite Lage identifying Portuguese duo Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho as his first choice pairing.

The 27-year-old Belgium international is currently out in Alicante with Wolves and has started both friendlies so far against Alaves and Levante.
