Everton: 'Inevitable' one of £126m duo will leave Goodison Park

It is “inevitable” that Everton will lose one of Richarlison or Dominic Calvert-Lewin this summer, says Daily Star journalist Paul Brown.

The Merseyside club are not in the greatest financial position right now, and Brown believes that has left them in a situation where they are going to have to sell players in the next transfer window.

Everton revealed at the end of March that they made a loss of just over £100m for the 2020/21 financial year, which was largely due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

As a result, it now looks like there are going to have to be some departures this summer, with Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin the two players in Frank Lampard‘s squad who are likely to attract the most interest.

According to Brazilian outlet UOL, Premier League rivals Tottenham have already made an approach for Richarlison as they look to bolster their attack.

Elsewhere, The Sun claims that the Toffees are ready to sell Calvert-Lewin, and that has alerted both Arsenal and Tottenham.

Brown has told GIVEMESPORT that one of Richarlison or Calvert-Lewin leaving Goodison Park is an inevitability due to the club’s current financial situation.

Speaking to GMS, the Daily Star reporter said: “It’s inevitable that one of them goes because the financial position the club finds itself in is so dire that they know they have to sell someone to generate some revenue.”

As long as they do not get relegated, which is still a possibility, Everton should be able to rake in a lot of money from selling either one of Richarlison or Calvert-Lewin.

UOL claims that the Merseyside outfit are hoping for an €80m (£66m) fee for Richarlison, while The Sun states that they valued Calvert-Lewin at
