Eurovision 2024 semi-final voting system and how it works

The two Eurovision Song Contest semi-finals will take place in the days leading up to the grand final at the weekend. Performers from 15 countries will go on stage in Malmo, Sweden, on Tuesday night, while a further 16 will sing their nation's chosen song on Thursday.

Each semi-final will see 10 countries qualify and join hosts Sweden and the 'big five' nations of France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK in Saturday night's final. While a jury has a say in the points awarded by each county in the grand final, the outcome is decided solely by viewers watching at home for the semi-finals.

Viewers in the 15 countries taking part in Semi-Final 1 will be eligible to vote alongside three of the countries pre-qualified for the Grand Final - Germany, Sweden and the United Kingdom. Viewers in the 16 countries taking part in Semi-Final 2 will be eligible to vote alongside three of the other countries pre-qualified for the Grand Final – France, Italy and Spain.
