Eurovision 2024 Greece entry: Zari lyrics in English, who is Marina Satti, and odds to win

Representing Greece at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest will be pop star Marina Satti.

Athens native Marina is a singer, songwriter, actress and music producer, and her music often blends traditional Greek, Arab and Balkan sounds with modern elements to give them a unique twist.

Also a classically trained pianist, Marina has also performed EBU's European Jazz Orchestra and has also sung at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington D.C as part of the World Jazz Nonet.

She has also appeared as a Battle Advisor on Greece’s version of The Voice, and released her debut album Yenna in 2022. Her 2016 hit single Koupes (Cups) went viral on YouTube and has had more than 27 million views to date.

Marina’s Eurovision 2024 song Zari, which translates into Dice in English, centres around the theme of luck and chance. Following her musical inspirations of blending the new with the old, Marina has said she hopes her song will break stereotypes surrounding Greek culture and aims to highlight what it means to be a young person in Greece today.

In a uniquely impressive move, the performance of Zari is all captured during one single camera shot - meaning that there is no room for fault, and Marina is taking a chance on the luck that she sings about to get it right.

Greece's odds of winning the contest were 150/1 ahead of the show, according to bookies Ladbrokes.

The Eurovision Song Contest grand final takes place on Saturday from 8pm and will be broadcast live on BBC One.
