European rugby finals switched to Dublin for 2023

Next season's European Champions Cup and Challenge Cup finals will be hosted in Dublin and not Tottenham Hotspur's stadium due to the late finish of the Premier League, the European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR) said.

The Premier League campaign finishes later than usual due to the World Cup finals taking place in Qatar in November and December.

The Challenge Cup final will take place on Friday, 19 May and the showpiece Champions Cup final on 20 May at Lansdowne Road.

"Following extensive discussions with all stakeholders we are delighted to be bringing the Champions Cup and EPCR Challenge Cup Finals back to Dublin next May," said EPCR chairperson Dominic McKay.

"The ground has a strong association with EPCR, having staged finals over the years, and we are very much looking forward to returning to Dublin.

"We are very happy to continue working with Tottenham Hotspur to stage our finals there soon."

It is the fifth time that Dublin will welcome a European final - having hosted the 1999, 2003 and 2013 Champions Cup finals and the 2013 Challenge Cup final.
