Dylan Eagleson to fight for gold after soaring into European Championship final

Dylan Eagleson will fight for a European Championship gold medal in Armenia after emerging victorious from Sunday's bantamweight semi-final.

The 19-year-old from Bangor was facing Daniel Panev Asenov of Bulgaria in the last-four, having already secured bronze.

But a 5-0 win by unanimous decision means Eagleson will upgrade from that bronze and now has the opportunity to fight for gold.

He will face France's Billal Bennama in the bantamweight final on Monday.

Fellow Team Ireland fighter Gabriel Dossen from Galway will also have the opportunity to try and reach the middleweight final when he takes on Italy's Salvatore Cavallaro in their semi-final on Sunday afternoon.
