Europa League wrap: Sevilla cruise, Juve held by Nantes

Six-time champions Sevilla were the biggest winners of the night, beating PSV Eindhoven 3-0 in the first leg of their Europa League knockout play-off in Spain.

Youssef En-Nesyri gave the hosts the lead just before half-time and substitute Lucas Ocampos volleyed in a spectacular second five minutes after the break, with Nemanja Gudelj adding a third soon after.

There was late drama in Germany as Monaco came from behind to defeat Bayer Leverkusen 3-2.

Monaco went ahead in only the ninth minute in a horror moment for keeper Lukas Hradecky, who stumbled under pressure from Breel Embolo and poked the ball into his own net.

Leverkusen hit back well after the break, though, with Moussa Diaby and Florian Wirtz turning the game around. Krepin Diatta then pulled Monaco level with a fine finish and Axel Disasi squeezed in an injury-time winner.

A thumping equaliser from Ludovic Blas on the hour mark earned Nantes an impressive 1-1 draw in Turin against Juventus, who had taken an early lead through Dusan Vlahovic.

Jose Mourinho's Roma have work to do after failing to take their chances and being punished by Nicolas Capaldo's late header in a 1-0 defeat by Red Bull Salzburg.

Shakhtar Donetsk, playing their home leg in Warsaw because of the ongoing war in Ukraine, defeated Rennes 2-1.

Dmytro Kryskiv opened the scoring in the 11th minute and Artem Bondarenko netted a penalty just before half-time, but Karl Toko Ekambi gave Rennes an away goal to take back to France.

Captain Sebastian Coates earned Sporting Lisbon a 1-1 draw against FC Midtjylland with an injury-time equaliser. The visitors had taken a 77th-minute lead through debutant Emam Ashour, who seized on a poor clearance from Sporting keeper Antonio Adan.
