Euro Paper Talk: Exciting wing-back signing could be in Tottenham destiny amid intriguing subplot; Chelsea to move for Silva partner

Tottenham Hotspur admire another left wing-back in the shape of Destiny Udogie, while Chelsea could launch a move for a PSG centre-back who knows Thomas Tuchel and Thiago Silva well – all in Friday’s Euro transfer gossip.

Tottenham have identified Destiny Udogie as another target to strengthen them at left wing-back.

Ivan Perisic recently signed for Tottenham after his release from Inter Milan. The Croatian wide man will be used as a left wing-back by Antonio Conte following their reunion in north London.

It has been a position under scrutiny due to the inconsistency of Sergio Reguilon and inexperience of Ryan Sessegnon.

With the addition of Perisic, Spurs will be stronger. However, he is naturally a winger. So perhaps the club are looking to cover themselves further for the wing-back role.

According to Sky Sport Italia reporter Gianluca Di Marzio, Tottenham have added themselves to the list of admirers for Destiny Udogie.

The 19-year-old spent the 2021-22 season on loan at Udinese from Hellas Verona. It proved to be something of a breakout campaign.

In his first season with Verona, he only managed six appearances, all in Serie A. After joining Udinese, though, he totalled 37 appearances, including 35 in the league.

Along the way, Udogie scored five goals and provided three assists. In turn, many clubs are looking at him as someone they can invest in.

His future is now in Udinese’s hands after his successful loan spell. They are yet to receive any offer from Tottenham for the Italian, but the Premier League outfit do admire him.

Interestingly, Di Marzio also links Udogie with Inter as a potential successor to Perisic himself.
