Erling Haaland warns Man City rivals about Jack Grealish partnership

Summer signing Erling Haaland admits there is more to come from his link-up with Jack Grealish after marking his Manchester City debut with a winner against Bayern Munich.

Haaland only needed 12 minutes to get his account up and running against the Germans after being forced to wait for his much-anticipated introduction. Pep Guardiola won the race for Haaland this summer and his signature cost the Premier League champions around £51million.

Despite scoring 85 goals in 88 games for Borussia Dortmund in two-and-a-half years, the forward had never tasted victory over Bayern until the early hours UK time. City won 1-0 against their Bundesliga opponents and that Stateside friendly offered up a warning to their rivals as to what to expect from Haaland and Grealish.

City splashed out £100million on the England playmaker last summer, but he was unable to regularly showcase an undoubted ability which made him such a favourite at Aston Villa and for the national team. With attentions fixed on next season, Grealish provided the assist for a trademark Haaland finish.

During an interview with MCFC's media, Haaland said: "It was really good. Good to get started again [after going] without playing football, so it's a good feeling.

"As you probably know, I have been watching a lot of City games for the last years and they have been without a striker. Of course, I have been seeing myself in these kinds of positions, so I am not surprised."

About Grealish and his impact, Haaland added: "He's good. He has to get better and I have to get better, but this is a good link-up and I like the vibe around him, so it's going to be fun."
