Rio Ferdinand backs 'problem' Jack Grealish to thrive thanks to two Man City players
Manchester United great Rio Ferdinand is predicting a stellar year for Jack Grealish at Manchester City, backing him to link up well with Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland.
The England international had a solid debut year at the Etihad, scoring six times and assisting four in 39 games. City supporters are hoping for a better season from him this time around, however, buying into the theory that Pep Guardiola’s signings usually need a year to bed in before accelerating to top form.
Grealish will be anticipating regular extended game time this campaign after Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus left City this summer. He will be hoping to begin more matches than the 22 league starts he was handed last season.

And Ferdinand says he could be a force to be reckoned with this season, especially if he can link up well with De Bruyne and Haaland. Speaking to FootballJoe, he said: “Grealish is going to be a problem this year.
“Just a snippet I saw of him pre-season with the link up with Haaland — De Bruyne, Grealish, Haaland. If that kicks this season it is over for everyone.”
