Erling Haaland: Man City's potential line up with Dortmund star
According to the Daily Mail, Manchester City have agreed a £500,000 per week deal to sign Erling Haaland in the summer.
The Citizens will have to pay £63 million to trigger the release clause in Haaland’s contract at Borussia Dortmund, but it seems like a deal has been agreed in principle and the Norwegian superstar will be operating as part of Pep Guardiola’s team next season.
Now, that is a truly frightening prospect if you aren’t a Man City fan.
Having failed to sign Harry Kane last summer, the club haven’t operated with a typical number nine at the helm since before Sergio Aguero left, and even then it was on the fleeting occasion the Argentine was fit.
Nevertheless, City have still managed to score a truck loads of goals. Take this seasons Premier League as an example, at the time of writing City have bagged 72 goals in just 31 matches predominantly using Phil Foden or Raheem Sterling as a shadow striker.
Now just imagine what they could do with a lethal attacking force like Haaland up-front, a man that this season holds a record of 25 goals in 26 matches for Dortmund.
Well, actually, that’s precisely what we are going to do…
Check out how we think Guardiola should be looking to line-up his team of superstars next season should the Haaland deal go through:
GK- Ederson
RB- Kyle Walker
CB- Ruben Dias
CB- Aymeric Laporte
LB- Joao Cancelo
CDM- Rodri
CM- Kevin De Bruyne
CM- Bernardo Silva
RW- Riyad Mahrez
ST- Erling Haaland
LW- Phil Foden
Ederson was the obvious pick in goal, after the antics of Zack Steffen in the FA Cup semi-final we can’t envisage him getting a run out again anytime soon.
Across the backline we’ve opted for the tried and trusted centre-back partnership of Dias and Laporte, whilst John
