Erling Haaland goal: Man City man's highlights as he scores on debut vs Bayern Munich

Erling Haaland scored just 12 minutes into his Manchester City debut as they beat Bayern Munich 1-0 in America.

Haaland started the match and put his side ahead as he slid in to finish Jack Grealish’s low cross.

Haaland arrives at City in a deal worth around £63 million. The Dortmund striker is expected to be the missing piece of the jigsaw for City to finally win the Champions League.

The 22-year-old arrived at the club short of fitness and has been eased into the fold, playing just 45 minutes against Bayern.

But it was enough for him to produce an exciting performance.

However, Guardiola insisted that Haaland needs time to get to his very best.

“He scored a goal which is important, these type of goals in front of keeper – always he’s there,” said Pep.

“The first minutes, he needs more rhythm and time but already he had 45 minutes which is good for him.

“We’ll see how he reacts to the niggles that he had in the previous weeks.

“After we come back we have long weeks to prepare every weekend game. In those two or three weeks we will get the best form.”

It was only Manchester City’s second pre-season fixture having beaten Club America on Thursday.

City have had a busy pre-season in the transfer market with the signings of Haaland, Kalvin Phillips, Stefan Ortega and Julian Alvarez. They’ve also seen Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko leave the club to Premier League rivals.

But Guardiola admitted he’s happy with his side’s business so far.
