Erling Haaland contract: Man City star's release clause has been revealed page 1 of 2

The details of Erling Haaland’s release clause at Manchester City have been revealed in a report.

The Norwegian has been in sensational form since his move from Borussia Dortmund to the Etihad this summer, with 20 goals in 13 appearances in all competitions this season.

The £51.2 million release clause fee that City paid is already looking like an absolute bargain.

With 15 goals in nine Premier League appearances, you can’t blame defenders in England’s top-flight for wondering when Haaland is moving on to conquer his next major European league.

According to his father, Alf-Inge, that’s the long-term plan.

“I think Erling wants to prove his abilities in all leagues,” Haaland Sr. said in the documentary, Haaland: The Big Decision.

“Then he can stay there [Manchester City] for three or four years at the most.

“He could be, for example, two-and-a-half years in Germany, two-and-a-half years in England and then in Spain, Italy, France, right?”

There have been plenty of suggestions that Haaland has a ‘Real Madrid’ clause in his contract, allowing him to leave for the Bernabeu when he decides to eventually leave the Premier League.

However, that particular clause was denied by Pep Guardiola last week.

“It’s not true,” the City boss said. “He has not got a release clause for Real Madrid or any other team.

“The rumours and people talking, we cannot control it. I always worry about what we can control.

“What’s important is he has adapted really well, we have the feeling he is happy here. We will try with him and all of them who want to stay to make them happy.

“In the future, nobody knows, but he is happy, he has settled perfectly, he is incredibly loved and this is the most important thing.”
