Erling Haaland comment on Pep Guardiola's transfer activity says it all as crisis deepens
Erling Haaland has dismissed any suggestions that Pep Guardiola's summer transfer window has caused Manchester City's lacklustre streak.
The 24-year-old Norwegian appeared visibly agitated at the Etihad Stadium during City's 4-0 humiliation at home by Tottenham Hotspur. The loss marked City's fifth straight defeat across all competitions, after being overcome by Bournemouth, Sporting Lisbon, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Spurs, who also beat City in the League Cup at the end of October.
Even with Guardiola extending his stay at the club, the club's disappointing run of form continued at the Etihad on Saturday. But, despite the fact only Ilkay Gundogan and Savio joined the club in the summer, Haaland does not believe City's lack of transfers are behind their recent poor run.

During a discussion with Telemundo, when asked if he believes City's transfer business has contributed to their downfall, the Norwegian replied: "No, we still create a lot of chances, we still score goals, so I'm not worried about anything. Of course people leave, people come in.
"It's new players to get to know and get the chemistry with, so of course things change. But I think that's just positive to get new faces in and to get other people to play football with."
Haaland started the campaign in terrifying fashion, netting 10 goals in City's first five Premier League matches. However, his scoring spree has slowed down considerably, with only two goals in the subsequent seven Premier League fixtures.
