Erling Haaland’s remarkable start to his Manchester City career continued on Saturday as he scored his 14th goal of the season.

The Norwegian, who joined City from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth £51 million in June, has well and truly hit the ground running in the Premier League.

August’s Player of the Month has now scored 11 Premier League goals in his first seven appearances after finding the back of the net against Wolves at Molineux.

Haaland doubled City’s advantage in the 16th minute, taking two touches before hitting the ball from the edge of the box with his ‘weaker’ right foot past Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa.

It was another excellent goal from a centre-forward who appears destined to cement his status as one of the greatest players of his generation.

Some expected Haaland to find the Premier League a far tougher challenge than the Bundesliga, where the Norway international scored 62 goals in 67 games for Dortmund.

But the 22-year-old has already proven that he’s too strong, fast and intelligent for most Premier League defenders to handle.

It was reported last month that rival Premier League managers have even held calls discussing how to stop the young striker.

One of those coaches is believed to have said that Haaland is “like an alien… stronger, taller, faster than anything we have seen before”.

Wolves boss Bruno Lage is likely to share the same opinion after watching Haaland torment his side this weekend.
