Erling Haaland arrival allows Mikel Arteta to complete Man City replica with summer Arsenal move
Erling Haaland looks the closest he has ever been to a move to the Premier League. Manchester City supporters woke up to dream transfer news this morning with reports suggesting the Norwegian had come to an agreement to join the league leaders this summer.
Arsenal supporters will be concerned at yet another world-beater arriving at the Premier League champions, meanwhile. The Gunners have been working to try and return the club to their title-challenging pedestal for many years and despite their good work, moves from rivals for players like Haaland only make the challenge that much more difficult.
However, there could yet be an opportunity for the Gunners as the transfer dominos present themselves.
Mikel Arteta’s previous work at Manchester City was lauded by a number of Blues players who worked with the Spaniard.
In particular, Arteta was praised for his work with the forward players. He was credited with helping to improve Raheem Sterling but Gabriel Jesus spoke in 2019 prior to the coach’s arrival at Arsenal.
"He's helped a lot of players. When I want to do finishing after training, I tell him and he comes and helps me," the Brazilian said.
"So, he is really fantastic for us. All the players know that — everyone knows that in the club. He is a fantastic guy and fantastic manager."
