'We can sense it' - Mikel Arteta sends Manchester United a Champions League warning

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has fired a Champions League warning to Manchester United after they took an even firmer grip on the final spot in the top four.

Bukayo Saka's first-half strike was enough for the Gunners to see off Aston Villa on Saturday. United now sit four points off Arsenal having played a game more than their rivals.

United were knocked out of the Champions League in midweek, meaning their only route into the elite European competition is via a top-four finish. They're currently fifth, two points ahead of West Ham and Tottenham, though Arteta is confident his side will hold on.

"The team has a lot of character, intelligence, courage and quality," he told BT Sport. "They trust me and you see the connection they have with the fans is incredible to watch.

"If you want to be with a top team, you have to win at home and away. We are there with 10 games to go, we have this feeling that we really want it and you can sense it. We are going to give it a go to the very end."
