Comparing Erling Haaland’s 21-22 stats to Man City’s current forwards
Erling Haaland has already established himself as one of the best strikers in the world for the present and future at just 21-years-old, and the Norweigan is certain to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer with the world’s biggest clubs circling.
Real Madrid and Manchester City have been identified as the leading clubs in the race for Haaland’s signature, in what would be a deal worth over £100million.
Manchester City have been after a centre-forward since the departure of Sergio Aguero in the summer of 2021. Pep Guardiola claimed that he was irreplaceable, but after trying and failing to sign Harry Kane, it seems Haaland is now the priority for City as they chase their first Champions League trophy.
With Guardiola’s system that uses a ‘false nine’ instead of a typical centre forward still working well enough to see them sit at the top of the Premier League table, signing one of the best goalscorers in the world would surely further help advance their domination of England.
Despite missing a large portion of the season with injury, Haaland remains one of the most coveted players in the world, and is seen as the successor to Cristiano Ronaldo at the top of world football. Here’s how his stats compare to City’s current attacking options.
