At last summer’s European Championships, Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest while playing for Denmark.

Thankfully he was able to recover. In Italy, players are prohibited from playing with a defibrillator so he had to depart Inter Milan.

Eriksen returned to the Premier League earlier this year as he joined Brentford on a free transfer.

The midfielder shone for the Bees before the end of the 2021/22 campaign. He was involved in five goals in eleven league outings.

His deal expires this summer and he is said to be attracting the interest of several Premier League clubs.

Italian journalist Afredo Pedulla is reporting that Eriksen has decided to leave Brentford as he ‘wants a new important challenge’.

It is stated that ‘many clubs’ in the Premier League ‘would like to sign him up’.

Pedulla goes onto suggest that Antonio Conte ‘would be happy to embrace him again’ at Tottenham Hotspur.

Elsewhere, according to reports, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle do not have the ‘full liking’ of AS Roma
