Erik ten Hag told how Sir Alex Ferguson would solve Jadon Sancho saga at Manchester United

Former Wrexham goalkeeper Ben Foster reckons Jadon Sancho would never play for Manchester United again if Sir Alex Ferguson was still the manager following an astonishing exchange with Erik ten Hag.

Sancho was omitted from the matchday squad against Premier League rivals Arsenal on Sunday afternoon as Ten Hag reasoned that decision in his pre-match interview. Ten Hag indicated Sancho had not been up to scratch with his performance levels in training before the trip to the Emirates Stadium.

However, while that suggestion was vehemently denied by the 23-year-old in a social media post uploaded soon after the final whistle, the United manager is thought to stand by his original comments. That has thrown Sancho's future at Old Trafford into serious doubt.

According to former United goalkeeper Foster, though, there would be no debate needed with Sir Alex still at the helm. Indeed, the popular media figure and podcaster - who retired from playing for the second time this campaign after a short spell at Hollywood-backed Wrexham - says Sancho would have a one-way ticket to the door.

Foster was asked about the situation on The United Stand YouTube channel. He said: "It's crazy mate. If [Sir] Alex Ferguson is manager at this moment in time of Manchester United and Jadon Sancho does this, he will never see the light of day again for Manchester United.

"He'll never play for this club and he'll never be allowed at the training ground. You are done, mate."

Foster, 40, continued: "I understand when [ex-] players say they would do the same thing, that's fantastic, you are allowed to do that if you want to, but it's not going to help you.
