Erik ten Hag press conference live Manchester United updates and team news for Everton fixture

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag will take questions from members of the press on Friday.

United suffered a 3-1 defeat against Manchester City last weekend and they have the challenge of bouncing back against Everton in the early Saturday afternoon kick-off slot in the Premier League.

Ten Hag's side are 11 points behind Aston Villa in fourth and a win is required to prevent that gap from widening again, although the Toffees are also desperate for points.

Everton are fighting to retain their Premier League status but their record against United is poor. Ten Hag will look ahead to the game and give an update on the team news.

Ten Hag's quotes are embargoed until 1.30pm and we'll bring you updates from then.

Ten Hag guided United to their first trophy in almost six years with the League Cup last season as the team finished third in the Premier League table and reached the FA Cup final.

However, United are currently sixth and 11 points adrift of the fourth guaranteed Champions League qualifying place, their League Cup defence ended at the second hurdle and they were completely eliminated from European competitions when they finished bottom of their Champions League group in December.

United have lost 16 games already this season - 11 in the league - but Ten Hag has a decent win percentage of 60%, which is better than Jurgen Klopp and Mikel Arteta's win percentage after 100
