Erik ten Hag press conference LIVE Manchester United updates, Sevilla reaction and team news latest

Erik ten Hag will answer questions from journalists at a press conference this afternoon ahead of Manchester United's match against Brighton in the FA Cup semi-final.

United flew back to England this morning after their crushing 3-0 defeat against Sevilla in the Europa League. That defeat meant they crashed out of the competition and Ten Hag will try to make sense of that performance in the press conference.

Ten Hag will speak in London, where United have flown to in preparation to play Brighton. The Seagulls have been in excellent form this term and they defeated United 2-1 at Old Trafford in August, which means the clash won't be straightforward.

However, with the Reds now out of the Europa League, the FA Cup represents the only realistic avenue for another piece of silverware this season and Ten Hag will demand a response from his players at Wembley.

The Dutchman will also reveal the team news for the semi-final after Anthony Martial limped off the pitch against Sevilla.

We'll bring you quotes from Ten Hag at 5.30pm today.

Erik ten Hag highlighted David de Gea's clean sheet record in the Premier League amid mounting scrutiny over his role at United.

De Gea was culpable for all three of Sevilla's goals, particularly the third when he rushed out of his area and miscontrolled an aerial ball that was swept in by Youssef En-Nesyri.

United are in discussions with De Gea about a new contract that the 32-year-old is expected to sign. United have not triggered the one-year extension in De Gea's existing deal as it would result in a significant salary hike with the club likely to qualify for the Champions League.
