Erik ten Hag 'plots' January midfield signing and other Manchester United transfer rumours
Manchester United reportedly want to sign AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders when the January transfer window opens - even though he only joined the Italian Serie A giants this summer.
The former FC Twente and AZ Alkmaar midfielder, 25, cost Milan around €19million only three months ago. He has earned top marks for his early-season performances in Serie A.
United, meanwhile, continue to have problems with consistency in their engine room despite already making five signings for that position since Erik ten Hag took charge. They spent £120million on Casemiro and ex-Chelsea player Mason Mount combined over the summer but more arrivals could soon be on the way.

Christian Eriksen (free) and loan duo - Marcel Sabitzer and Sofyan Amrabat - are the other three additions. United are now claimed to have Reijnders on their shopping list.
Manchester Evening News understands Ten Hag initially wants to make four major signings next summer with yet another midfielder in his sights. However, reports from Italian publication Calciomercato reckon United could bring forward that pursuit with a view to signing Reijnders in January.
Reijnders has won four caps for the Netherlands. A proposed transfer fee worth €40million has been mooted with the ex-AZ Alkmaar man contracted until 2028.
Elsewhere, reports from Turkish outlet Fotospor reckon United are among several sides to have registered interest in Galatasaray full-back Sacha Boey. The 23-year-old defender played against United in the Champions League only this month during a 3-2 victory for the Group A visitors.
