Erik ten Hag might finally give Manchester United fans something they've wanted against Fulham

When Manchester United welcomed Fulham to Old Trafford in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup in March, the away side were comfortably leading 1-0 and it looked like fatigue had finally caught up to Erik ten Hag's players.

It was the last game before the international break and United were set to crash out of the competition, but Fulham dramatically imploded after the 70th minute when Willian used his hand close to the line to deny Jadon Sancho's goalbound effort.

Willian was sent off for his intervention, but Aleksandar Mitrovic and manager Marco Silva were also shown red cards for their protests against the decision, in an extraordinary few minutes which ultimately decided the game.

A brace from Bruno Fernandes and a goal from Marcel Sabitzer followed. Mitrovic served an eight-match suspension for his tantrum and he'll no doubt have revenge on his mind on Sunday afternoon - even if his manager says otherwise.

Ten Hag didn't speak fluent English when he first arrived in Manchester and although it's certainly improved throughout the season, it seems there's still a particular word he doesn't know the meaning of: rotation.

The 53-year-old has preferred to pick a settled team even when it's seemed absurd not to rotate and some supporters have questioned that approach, with a few members of the dressing room having looked weary at times.

United have qualified for the Champions League and they will play Manchester City in the FA Cup final six days after facing Fulham, which means it might be wise to rest key personnel, or at the minimum, carefully manage their minutes.
