Erik ten Hag has just given a clearer picture of Manchester United first team plans

Manchester United drew the curtain on their pre-season preparations yesterday with a 1-1 draw against Athletic Bilbao in Dublin.

Erik ten Hag named a second-string side at the Aviva Stadium, with most of his first-choice options completing 90 minutes in the 3-1 win over RC Lens the day before. Plenty of the younger prospects impressed on Sunday, with Facundo Pellistri grabbing the late equaliser and cancelling out Nico Williams' opener.

And so United finished their pre-season preparations with a draw, the only stalemate in a summer that also included four wins and three defeats, spanning two continents and five countries. Ten Hag's side kicked off their summer with quick-fire wins over Leeds and Lyon, before heading off to the United States and beating Arsenal 2-0.

Ten Hag got a chance to assess a huge number of players, from senior players fighting for a future to young talent hoping to make an early impression. A total of 47 players featured, and the Manchester Evening News have collated their minutes.
