Erik ten Hag has already outlined his Manchester United vision

Ajax manager Erik ten Hag has already provided Manchester United with an insight into what he could bring to Old Trafford if they were to turn to him as their new permanent manager.

United interviewed Ten Hag about potentially becoming their next permanent manager last week and the Manchester Evening News reported last month he is United's preferred candidate.

The Dutchman is out of contract at Ajax next season and would likely command a much lower compensation fee than Mauricio Pochettino would if United were to prise him away from Paris Saint-Germain instead.

Unsurprisingly, a whole host of names have been linked with the job on a permanent basis, not least 52-year-old Ten Hag, who has become the overwhelming favourite of United supporters in recent weeks.

Since taking over at Ajax in 2017, he has overseen an excellent job, guiding them to five major honours, as well as the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League in 2019, only to be narrowly edged out by Tottenham Hotspur.

With his reputation and the style of football he has got Ajax playing proving to be impressive, a lot of United fans are now keen to see him installed as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's long-term replacement, with the Dutchman seen as an up-and-coming manager.
