Erik ten Hag gives honest answer about pressure Manchester United are under after Fulham win

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has insisted Saturday's 1-0 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage has not eased the pressure on his shoulders.

United registered a much-needed win in dramatic fashion, clinching all three points courtesy of a stoppage-time winner from Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese international scored in the 91st minute after his shot was parried into the net by Cottagers goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

United arrived in west London in desperate need of a victory following back-to-back 3-0 defeats to Manchester City and Newcastle United. Following the Carabao Cup defeat to the Magpies, there was an increase in speculation suggesting Ten Hag's position was under threat.

The Reds have lost exactly half of their opening 16 matches in all competitions this season, including five defeats in their opening 11 Premier League outings. They are already playing catch-up in pursuit of a top-four finish.

A mixture of poor results and below-par performances had increased the pressure on Ten Hag, not least after the 3-0 defeats to City and Newcastle. Though the win over Fulham spared him from further criticism, he does not believe his side's triumph on the banks of the Thames has eased the pressure on him and his players.

Asked if the win eased the pressure on him and the club, Ten Hag, speaking to beIN Sports, said: "I don't think so, because the pressure is always there.

"That is the demand when you work for Manchester United. It counts for everyone, the players and definitely for the manager."

The challenge for United now, of course, is to build on Saturday's victory when they face FC
