Erik ten Hag explains Rasmus Hojlund hope and makes Manchester United Champions League admission

Erik ten Hag has insisted that his Manchester United side is still capable of scoring goals despite being without Rasmus Hojlund.

The striker, who has scored in each of his last six Premier League appearances, has been ruled out for around two to three weeks with a muscle injury. The first game Hojlund will miss is this afternoon's clash against Fulham.

It has been claimed that youngster Omari Forson is in line to replace the Denmark international against Marco Silva's side at Old Trafford. But despite the setback, Ten Hag has claimed that the other forwards in his squad are capable of scoring goals and winning games in the absence of Hojlund.

"We have our options in our squad," he told the United website. "Of course, it's a setback for Rasmus. It's a setback for us that we can't keep this process going from the three in the frontline.

"They were really complementary to each other lately, but I think also we can put out other frontlines who can become complementary and co-operate well together and create chances. As I said, they are all capable of scoring goals.”

Victory for United would move them level on points with Tottenham Hotspur in the table, though they won't replace Ange Postecoglou's side in fifth- place due to the North Londoners' superior goal difference. Four consecutive victories have strengthened the Reds' chase for Champions League football, with 14 games remaining.
