Erik ten Hag explains how Manchester United will seek inspiration from Best, Law and Charlton

Erik ten Hag insists Manchester United will seek inspiration from the club's Holy Trinity of George Best, Denis Law and Sir Bobby Charlton for their pivotal Champions League tie against Copenhagen.

Charlton died at the age of 86 on Saturday and the upcoming week is certain to be emotive for United followers as the club prepares for three successive home games.

The club great was immortalised in a bronze statue with Best and Law that was unveiled in 2008 when they were the club's three Ballon d'Or recipients. Cristiano Ronaldo became the fourth later that year.

Charlton was part of the United team that blazed a trail in Europe in the late 1950s and he recovered from the trauma of the Munich air disaster in 1958 to lift the European Cup 10 years later, starting and finishing the scoring in the 4-1 triumph over Benfica.

The current United lost both of their opening Champions League group stage games and a win is essential against Copenhagen at Old Trafford.
