Erik ten Hag confirms who will be in charge of Manchester United vs Wrexham

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that he will "support" Under-21s boss Travis Binnion for the pre-season friendly against Wrexham in San Diego.

A youthful United XI will lock horns with the League Two side with the ambition of aiming to catch Ten Hag's attention. United have confirmed 15 players who will definitely be part of the squad for the contest, featuring a cluster of youngsters and experienced defender Jonny Evans.

More familiar members of United's youth ranks, who are currently part of Ten Hag's first team, are also expected to feature, though the names of those who could be involved are yet to have been confirmed. United play again less than 24 hours later, facing Spanish giants Real Madrid in Houston, with that fixture set to be taken care of by the club's senior stars.

It has prompted questions in the build-up to the clash with Wrexham over what role Ten Hag will play. He has confirmed that he will stay in San Diego for the game and assist Binnion, who was recently promoted to Under-21s boss on a full-time basis, with Darren Fletcher also poised to help out.
