Erik ten Hag addresses Kobbie Mainoo injury and outlines Dean Henderson’s Manchester United future

Here are your Manchester United morning headlines for Friday, July 28.

Erik ten Hag addresses Kobbie Mainoo injury

Erik ten Hag could not give a significant update on Kobbie Mainoo's injury as he admitted he would have to wait to find out the extent of the problem that forced the teenager off the pitch against Real Madrid.

Mainoo was handed a start in midfield alongside Casemiro and Mason Mount against Carlo Ancelotti's side but required medical attention just two minutes after the game had kicked off.

The youngster's night ended prematurely after a collision with Madrid winger Rodrygo. As the Brazilian looked to run towards the United goal, he was upended by Casemiro.

Erik ten Hag sends message to Dean Henderson over Manchester United future

Erik ten Hag has told Dean Henderson he has to "fight" for playing time as long as he is at Manchester United.

Henderson is nearing a return from a thigh problem that has kept him sidelined for the last six months and he has been training with the United squad on their pre-season tour of the United States.

The 26-year-old was not named in the matchday squads in either of United's friendlies with Arsenal or Real Madrid and it is unlikely he will be involved in their final tour game against Borussia Dortmund in Las Vegas on Saturday.
