England staying at plush golf resort for Euro 2024, complete with spa and private pitches

England's football team is benefiting from a luxurious stay at a Euro 2024 resort, in what could be their most indulgent experience yet. Manager Gareth Southgate has always stressed the significance of top-tier basecamp and training facilities to boost their chances of tournament success.

During the Russia World Cup, they stayed in Repino, a 45-minute drive from St Petersburg, and for the 2022 Qatar World Cup, they lodged next to a soukh in Al Wakrah. However, Golfresort Weimarer Land, approximately a half-hour drive from Erfurt, offers an entirely different level of luxury.

As suggested by its name, the resort features two 18-hole courses and an additional 9-hole course. The lavish 94-room resort also includes two full-size football pitches and high-end spa facilities where suites can cost up to £300 per night.

FA staff have left no stone unturned in ensuring every detail is perfect, and insiders suggest this could be the best tournament basecamp yet. England manager Southgate inspected it last winter when the training pitches were covered in snow, but the surfaces are excellent, the gym is state-of-the-art, and it's equipped with all the latest gear, according to the Mirror.

UEFA proposed a list of potential venues for national teams, but Weimarer Land didn't make the cut. However, England managed to secure it before other interested countries, including Germany, reports Football London.
