Emmerdale fans claim David Metcalfe has 'forgotten something' as he quit the village after being left heartbroken by his son. The shopkeeper decided to head to London where his ex-Priya Sharma moved to earlier this year with their daughter, Amber.

David made the decision to leave during Thursday night's edition of the ITV soap after another confrontation with Jacob Gallagher and Victoria Sugden after their secret romance was exposed. David was shattered earlier this week when he saw his son and his ex-girlfriend in a passionate embrace.

He was then seen eventually confronting his son after Jacob pretended he'd just been over at Victoria's to read Harry a bedtime story and finally revealing what he saw. The pair got into an emotional confrontation which was halted by the arrival of Eric Pollard. David's dad wrongly assumed Jacob had revealed his Parkinson's Disease diagnosis to David, leaving the latter stunned.

During Wednesday night's trip to the Dales, David was seen apologising to his dad after finding out he'd been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and promised him he'd be there for him during his treatment and deterioration. But during the latest instalment, David did make the decision to leave the village after being punched by Jacob as he delivered some harsh words to Victoria.
