Emergency incident live updates as police, fire and ambulance descend on river near city centre
There is an ongoing presence of multiple emergency services as they respond to an incident at the River Tawe near Fabian Way, Swansea. Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews were called to reports of a person in the water at 7.46am and remain at the scene along with police and ambulance.
Fire crews from Swansea Central, Carmarthen, Swansea West and Morriston Fire Stations are working with the RNLI, South Wales Police and the Coast Guard to search the river and riverbanks for the person.
Welsh Ambulance Service have also sent one Cymru High Acuity Response Unit, one operations manager and a hazardous area response team to the scene.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called today at approximately 7:40am, to reports of an incident in the River Tawe, Swansea.
"We sent one emergency ambulance, one Cymru High Acuity Response Unit, one operations manager and a hazardous area response team to the scene."
