Ellen Keane books Paris 2024 spot after clinching silver at Para Swimming World Championships

Tokyo 2020 gold medallist Ellen Keane claimed a silver in the Women's 100m Breaststroke SB8 final at the Para Swimming World Championship on Sunday to guarantee Team Ireland another slot for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

Keane, who had won her heat in a time of 01:22.45, set a pace of 01:21.43 in the final which was just short of the gold medal winner.

Turner was unlucky to miss out on a bronze medal in her final by the tightest of margins.

"It was tough to finish on but I think everyday is a learning day and I did learn a lot from that race and a lot can happen in para sport. I went in third and came out fourth," she said.

Brady had a strong swim in her first world championships appearance, finishing in fifth, just behind her team-mate Turner.

"Swimming against world class athletes was just amazing. I grew up
