'Electric' Nicolas Kuhn needs a Celtic spark as pundit demands more evidence to back up reputation

Nicolas Kuhn has shown little of his supposed electric pace in a Celtic shirt so far, with one ex-Parkhead star unsure of what to make of the German so far.

The former Ajax and Bayern Munich youngster was one of just two January transfer window arrivals under Brendan Rodgers, alongside Norwich City loan striker Adam Idah. Both are off the mark already, with Kuhn netting the equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Aberdeen at Pittodrie, while two Idah penalties were just enough for the champions to see off Hibs at Easter Road last midweek.

He's only made four appearances in the Hoops so far, but Mark Wilson admits he's seen little so far to suggest that Kuhn is the flying machine and difference-maker Celtic were supposedly getting. And while it's early days, Kuhn's display against the Hibees has given Wilson doubts after an encouraging cameo against the Dons in the north east.

“Listen, I really don’t know what Kuhn is going to be," he told Clyde Superscoreboard. "We’ve been hearing reports that he’s electric and he can run by people. I’ve yet to see it. I have seen a wee glimpse at Pittodrie, but at Easter Road the other night, he looked way off it.”
