Electric Elie Youan fires Hibs double to earn draw against Hearts in barnstorming Edinburgh derby - 3 talking points

Two second half goals from Elie Youan sealed Hibs a point in a stunning Tynecastle comeback as bragging rights were shared in the first Edinburgh derby of the season.

Hearts looked out of sight after an hour thanks to goals from Alan Forrest and a Christian Doidge OG. But Hibs ensured Nick Montgomery remains unbeaten after five games with a stirring fightback which means they remain two points behind their rivals. The home side dominated the opening period and Alex Lowry drew the first save from David Marshall after six minutes and the loan Ranger came even closer soon after when he bent a left-footer off the base of the post after being set-up by Forrest.

Marshall then had to be at his best to get down low and get a hand to Shankland’s deflected effort. It was total one-way traffic of a maroon nature. And there was no surprise when Forrest took the roof off Tynecastle with a stunning left footed effort from 22 yards after cutting in off the right flank after 28 minutes. Hearts were dealt a blow right on half time as Stephen Kingsley was stretchered off with what looked a groin problem.

Not that it curbed their moment and the Jambos doubled their lead just before the hour mark when Lowry cut into the box and his low cross cum shot was sliced past David Marshall into his own net by the luckless Doidge. Hibs looked beaten and without a hope. But sensationally they were level with two Youan goals in the space of 120 seconds in the 66th and 68th minutes - their first two efforts on target. A ricochet in the box fell kindly to Youan and the wide man nearly took the net off as he smashed past Zander Clark for the first before he slid the ball through a ruck of legs and into the net after HIbs had worked the ball into the box
