EFL pundit predicts score outcome as Coventry City prepare for Bristol City clash

Bristol City will be looking to secure a fifth successive league victory at Ashton Gate tonight, with the Robins’ home proving to be somewhat of a fortress in recent weeks.

Nigel Pearson’s side struggled immensely on home soil at the start of the campaign, however, they have managed to turn things around.

The Robins sit 10 points shy of the play-off positions as things stand, whilst they have bridged a 19 point gap from the relegation places.

Coventry are still well within the race for a top-six spot, with the Sky Blues just three points outside of the play-off places.

Mark Robins’ side have picked up seven points from their last four games and will be hoping to recapture their early-season form in what remains of the campaign.

Issuing his score prediction via his Sky Sports column, David Prutton believes that the hosts will extend their perfect recent home form and will win 1-0.

The verdict

Bristol City have managed to turn things completely around at their home ground this season, with Ashton Gate starting to become a difficult place to go and secure a result.

However, they have not kept a clean sheet in 12 games and should struggle to keep out an energetic and talented Coventry front-line and midfield.

The Sky Blues will certainly have a tough test ahead of them, but these are games that become crucial with the play-offs in sight.

It will be no surprise to see this one end as a draw, with the Robins’ forward line proving to be difficult to keep quiet in recent weeks, whilst Coventry have maintained a strong level of performance throughout this season.
