'Edwards at the back post', 'Excitement begins' - Many NUFC fans erupt as 'unreal' twist emerges

A whole host of Newcastle United fans are buzzing on Twitter with Luke Edwards’ fresh transfer update.

Newcastle managed to bring in a new striker earlier in the transfer window when Chris Wood arrived for £25 million, but not being satisfied with that, Eddie Howe and PIF have seemingly pushed for more attacking options.

Hugo Ekitike looks set for a deadline day move to Tyneside, with Luke Edwards reporting that a bid had been accepted, despite talks having started and ended between Newcastle and Reims earlier in the window.

Ekitike is still just 19 years old, but boasts a rather impressive record in Ligue 1 this season with eight goals in just 18 appearances, so being able to learn his craft in the Premier League from strikers who have been around for years such as Wood and Callum Wilson could be the best way for him to grow and develop.
